Lead Systems Engineer 1990-1995

  • Responsible for development of justification, cost estimates for gas plant monitoring and control projects.
  • Developed specifications and cost estimates for remote compressor and valve station monitoring and control.
  • Worked closely with plant managers and operators to customize applications for their specific needs.
  • Provided the PLC ladder logic programming for the gas plant and compressor projects and assisted in the MMI development for the control room.
  • Worked with automation team members to provide Modbus drivers for third party instrumentation (gas Chromatograph and electronic flow meters).
  • Provided installation, training and documentation for the gas plant and the remote compressor systems.
  • Familiar with instrumentation used at plant site; gas Chromatographs. Single loop controllers, electronic flow meters, pressure and temperature transducers, etc.
  • Member of strategic instrumentation team for the Texaco Gas Department.

Research Electrical Engineer 1970-1990

  • Responsible for several projects dealing with technology transfer to field operations, including:
  • A data collection system for pumpers using hand-held and office based computer. Systems were designed for both on and off shore operations.
  • A study comparing pump-off control vs. Timers for low production wells.
  • Multiphase flow measurement. (1 patent awarded)
  • Well logging instrumentation research:
  • Acoustic, Dielectric, High Frequency Resistivity, and Slim-hole Resistivity (11 patents awarded).
