ROV TOOLING INCORPORATED INTO A CONTROL SYSTEM

This photograph illustrates a full function ROV Belly Skid in position to dock with the rear of a neutrally buoyant Control Pod. Both the ROV Belly Skid and the Control Pod have API 17D C921.8 ROV interface profiles on the front. The rear of the Control Pod and the Control Pod Base Plate have mating API 17D C921.8 Receptacles.

These profiles have a central space allocation for 1000 or 5000 ft.-lb. torque wrenches, dual docking posts, and 8 space allocations around the perimeter. Each of these 8 spaces can use single, dual, or triple API 17D C921.10 ports; or can be used for electrical terminations.

The ROV Belly Skid can similarly handle the Umbilical Connector to the back of the Control Pod - meaning that the ROV Belly Skid can dock with the Umbilical Connector, the Control Pod, and the Control Pod Base plate on the Tree itself.
